Ways to get involved

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL (SSC)

Come join us to discuss programs and issues specific to Westwood School and community. The School Site Council is an elected group of parents who help make decisions about programs and policies at Westwood. All community members are invited to attend to discuss these issues. We meet the first Wednesday of the month, 1:30-2:30 in the Westwood Library. Childcare is provided for school-aged children. 

 

COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE (CAC)

The Community Advisory Committee is a group of parents, educators and community members interested in helping children who have special educational needs pertaining to IEPs and 504 Plans. This is a district advisory group and meets monthly to discuss the issues for the entire Santa Clara Unified School District.

 

PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)

Westwood's PTA is a groupd of parents, family members, teachers, and community members who meet to discuss activities and community building events throughout the year. The PTA Board (eloected) meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the month, 6:30-7:30, in the Westwood Library. All parents/community members are invited to attend to give input. Additionally, the PTa holds three association meetings throughout the year for all PTA members to share its financial records, trimester acitivities, and plans for fundraising.
