Westwood Elementary PTA

Dear Westwood Families,

family ptaAs parents, it is very important that we be involved in our children's education. Over 30 years of research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and at school not just improving grades and test scores but also raising children's self-esteem and encouraging a lifelong love of learning. The Westwood PTA helps promote the partnership between students, parents, teachers and our community. We serve as an advocate on behalf of our children here at school as well as in the public education and government arenas. The PTA also provides parents a place where they can get information, ask questions, and be involved in the decisions that affect their children's experience here at Westwood Elementary, I encourage you to become an active participant in our school and community by becoming a member of the Westwood PTA!fund

The PTA's budget is based primarily on school-wide fundraisers and tax-deductible donations. You can support our efforts by participating in fundraisers, purchasing spirit wear and volunteering at our main school-wide events, such as Fall Festival, Science Night, Book Fair or our Multicultural Festival.

We are ALWAYS in need of volunteers to help support our activities. Volunteer opportunities vary in their degree of time commitment and level of effort...there is always something available to fit your schedule! With your time, talent and monetary support we can accomplish much for our students, teachers and school this year!

Please join Westwood PTA! For only $8, you can start making a difference today! We look forward to seeing you.

2019 Annual pta spring fundraiser

ThankPTA you for participating in our recent survey regarding our annual Spring Fundraiser! None of the 3 ideas (Apples, Mixed Bags or Pasta) were favored.

Many of our families stated you would rather donate directly to the PTA
as opposed to buying something and giving part of your donation to an
outside company.

Westwood PTA supplements school programs and improvements through donations. We want all of our students to have the opportunity to experience art, science and field trips to amazing places. We want to help our teachers purchase materials for our children and improve our school.

Please donate today!
If every family donates just $15, the PTA will be able meet our $5K fundraising goal!
Without financial donations, these programs are in jeopardy of disappearing.
We need your help, together we can make a difference!

● $14,000 for class field trips
● $3,000 for Science Enrichment programs and school-wide assembly
● $2,000 for the school-wide Art Enrichment program
● $5,500 for reimbursements to teachers for classroom materials
● $3,000 for school improvement projects, such as the new electronic marquis in front of the
school, the projection system in the cafeteria, and the computer lab.Wildcat Logo

  1. Twenty minutes on the play structure is better than an hour on the Stairmaster.

  2. Many employers let you volunteer during work hours, so ask yourself: Is it better to work at West wood with the children or stay at work with people who act like children.

  3. Because you can actually help cover the holes left by the budget gap.

  4. You can see for yourself if the, "Mom! Dad! It wasn't me" explanation is valid.

  5. Art therapy - Priceless!

  6. You can hear for yourself what she said, then what he said and then what she said back.

  7. You can tell other children besides your ow, "Because I said so!" and they will listen to you.

  8. So you can speak up on behalf of your child at our school, in our district and in the state!

  9. And the #1 reason to join Westwood Elementary PTA?

  10. Because we need YOU! Your child will only be as interested and involved in school as you are.
